Ami writes fiction, radio documentaries and drama. As a freelance producer for CBC radio, her work has aried on Maritime Magazine, This Morning, OutFront and The Sunday Edition. Her documentary, Daughter of Family G, won an Excellence in Journalism Medalion at The 2003 Atlantic Journalism Awards. She has been a finalist in the Writers’ Union of Canada Short Prose Competition as well as the recipient of a grant from The Nova Scotia Department of Tourism, Culture, and Heritage. Ami’s first novel, ‘The Birth House’ was a Globe and Mail number one bestseller. She is currently working on her second novel, ‘The Virgin Cure’.
