Gerry Fostaty spent twenty years as a professional actor appearing in films, commercials and on the stage before deciding to study marketing at Ryerson University and subsequently launching a successful career in that field. Gerry was moved to write his first book, the memoir, As You Were, when, in his fifties, he began to reconnect with friends he had known at Army Cadet Camp back in 1974. As cadets, the then boys had experienced the tragedy of a live grenade accidently exploding during a training lecture and killing six of their young colleagues. As You Were will be published by Goose Lane Editions in Spring 2011. Gerry is now turning his hand to fiction.
