Khaled Hosseini
Khaled Hosseini was born in Kabul, Afghanistan, and moved to the United States in 1980. The Kite Runner, his first novel, was an international bestseller, published in forty countries. His second novel, A Thousand Splendid Suns is also an enormous international bestseller. In 2006 he was named as a US goodwill envoy to the United Nations Refugee Agency. He lives in northern California.
