Elaine Kalman Naves is a Montreal-based journalist and the author of Journey to Vaya an award-winning biography of her Hungarian-Jewish paternal family published by Queens-McGill and Shoshanna’s Story: A Mother, A Daughter and the Shadows of History (McClelland & Stewart).The University of Nebraska Press released an American edition of Shoshanna’s Story in Spring 2006.

Elaine's latest book, Robert Weaver: Godfather of Canadian Literature, was published by Véhicule Press. The book is a companion piece to a two-hour CBC Radio Ideas documentary.
